Elmo`s Dockside in Vernon Rockville

What a pleasant surprise! Haven't been to Elmo's in years. Good food fairly priced. Server was great. Four stars because it took a little long for the food. We'll be back.

Expensive, but delicious. Waitress was not terribly attentive.

Extremely overpriced for small portions of average restaurant quality food. Nothing special here unless you count a mostly geriatric clientele.

I was very pleased with the quality of food and that it wasn’t over salted. The entire staff added to the pleasant dining experience.

Waitress serving whole bar area tables and bar by herself. The owner was standing and chatting with a couple, not acknowledging that we were even there. When we came in menus were thrown in front of us. It took 10 min to get drinks. Then another 10 to take our order. After a long while we received our food. We have been going there for a long time and it use to be good. The shrimp was farm raised huge and very tough with no taste. The wine was cheap tasting bitter possibly old and had been open. For the high price I expected a whole lot better. All done and we will not return again. Going cheaper is the best way to lose good customers.

Cozy atmosphere, excellent service, and above average food

Loved the clam chowder. Rest of the seafood dishes, like the broiled platter, were just ok.

The food was absolutely fantastic! Seafood Crepes were amazing! Every staff member I encountered was engaged with their customers and pleasant. Such a great atmosphere. The bartender made the experience! Everything you would want in that role.

The mussels were inedible, some tough,some bitter and suspicious. Fried clams were so-so as we're fried oysters. First disappointing meal at Elmo's. Waiter Steve, however, was very good

Great place for food.

Not good. Ordered the lobster bisque, the fried oysters and the whole belly clams. The oysters were tiny and flavorless, and took FOREVER to come out. The clams were also tiny and unremarkable, as was the bisque. The service was the main thing. The place was DEAD, so why am I waiting 15 minutes for a fried appetizer? Won't be back.

Food was great, service was spectacular and the price was reasonable. We had the atuffed mushrooms, not bad at all. My wife had lobster. A little pricey but hey we are 60 miles from the shore. I had the dockside platter. This was very good. We met Robert, Elmo's son. Really nice guy he's been in the business for years. Our waitress Sherry was wonderful, very attentive.

I drove from Springfield,MA just to get their food it is out of this world amazing!!!

Good food from the fresh bread to the Dockside Platter. The skinny colada was good and the lobster bisque was amazing. Our server Kelly was very attentative and nice.

Service was good. You should eat at The Crab Shack in Hartford, you might learn something?

Bomb food, great service. Drinks could use some work if the right bartender isn't on. Worth the stop

Great food great people, the owner was very friendly came up to me and introduced himself. Very pleased with this place. Definitely will go back.

Everything was great. The bread was "homemade " fresh, there. The waitress was excellent.Her name is Autumn.

Ordered baked sole to go. Was completely raw. Was given a gift card to come back. Next time ordered baked combo platter. Clams were raw, scallops were so overcooked they were like eating erasers. When I complained and asked for clams to be made again or reheated the owner came to our table and said he had never gotten a complaint in 51 years and he was told we complain often. Have been going for 28 yrs and complained only twice. Owner explained that clams can be eaten raw but basically if we didn't like the food we should not come back. I was embarrassed and humiliated. Will never go back.

The food and service was excellent. I highly recommend the New England style clam chowder.

We had a great time here. Drinks were great, service was quick and very nice. The lobster bisque was amazing! Clam chowder was very good as well. Our main courses were very good and reasonably priced for seafood. In all we had a great time between the food and atmosphere of the place. I would definitely recommend trying it out. They also have prime rib on Fridays and Saturdays as well as a happy hour menu Sunday thru Wednesday 4p to 7p.

Great place! The Creme Brulee is amazing and the Creamsicle mixed drink is a nice mix of sweet and potent.

My husband and I were able to get a quick dinner date in and on a tight budget we normally stick to the basics, cheap meal, water no extras, we wanted to try a place we hadn't been to and found ourselves here amd it was wonderful, they have happy hour Sunday through Wednesday throughout the whole restaurant (not just the bar) and we treated ourselves to an appetizer and definitely want to come back! The staff was great, food was amazing and the atmosphere was really nice!

This place is so hit or miss. Sometimes the food is amazing, sometimes I feel like it was reheated in a microwave. The staff is friendly. Their menu has some awesome things on it. There is so much potential here lost in execution. Also, the can be pushy if you spend too much time as a large party there.

Amazing food and the staff was awesome and attentive, we got the specials read to us and explained by the owner himself!!

Good food, good service. Reasonable check for 4 adults and 4 kids. Prime Rib friday was tasty. Other meals included shrimp scampi, baked stuffed shrimp, hamburgers. Servier was great at checking to see if we needed anything. Owner or manager stopped by to make sure everything was to our satifaction.

Very clean, friendly service. Meat is always cooked perfectly, I like filet and my husband likes prime rib end cut. We have never had a bad meal there...I consider it my favorite local restaurant. Raw oysters are the best!!

This place was so nice and friendly! Food was amazing. Drinks were delicious. Maybe a bit over priced for the drinks. But mostly worth it. And the happy hour drink prices definitely make up for the other drink prices. I got the dockside platter so it was a nice mix of seafood and all of it was cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend this place!

Best around. Try their clam strips and lobster bisque. Excellent service and fantastic food at reasonable prices. Best sweet potato fries I have ever had. Kudos!!! 5 stars only because I can't give 6.

Overpriced and dated restaurant, fish was overcooked and tasteless, very disappointed. Waitress was nice enough to comp dessert, but won't be returning.

Absolutely amazed at how good the food was! My sister and I stopped by for the first time after living in town for over 20 years and we are blown away!! We will definitely be back, for sure!

Great place, great seafood just a bit over priced

Service was a bit slow but as expected considering the bar (and probably the dining room) were mostly full. Happy hour menu was great and the 5 dollar burger was both delicious and big enough that I had to save half for later. Calamari was also super tasty.
